Disney Fantasy Day 6

Day 6- 5/3/12
Day at Sea

We woke up and got ready for breakfast in Royal Court.  It was actually a great menu with some different things, fresh to order than buffet style at Cabanas.
I had a French toast and pineapple stack.
Rachel had Egg and pancakes
Kara had a kids trio of waffles, pancakes and fruit.
We also ordered a waffle sandwich.  Which had dulce de leche. yummy.

After breakfast, we went to shutters  to buy the cd and picture special.

We saw some characters...
  • Minnie Mouse
  • Belle

Then onto to arts and crafts in Europa- color your own tote bags.  It was just a session where they gave us a bag and crayons.  But we made a great Royal Castaways limited edition bag!  Lol.

After the session, it was Mickey's Dance party.   Kara got tired in the middle and wanted to go back for a nap.

Jeannie went to the captains signing and had her ship signed by captain Marco.
Wil, Arl and Roberta sat on deck 4 promenade for a little less than an hour.
Then Everyone went to Cabanas for lunch.
The Banwers did the Muppet Adventure.
Meanwhile Kara slept, mommy went shopping.
Larry and Roberta searched for their phone which they had lost.  Kara awoke and the Cohens joined the Cohens for the search. No luck.

Then it was time to get dressed for semi formal night.
Kara and David and Rachel took one picture in the atrium but kara did not want to do anymore after that.  I guess she finally has had it with the pics.  We got much further than i thought we would have with her picture taking.

The whole gang saw Believe!   Kara ate a whole bag of popcorn.  Kara just loves the show and song... "How to make your garden grow".  All loved the show.

Then it was time for The Quest in the Tube. No one, besides Rachel and myself knew what the Quest was about. It is a scavenger hunt with stuff we has on us.  Very cool.

Long story short, our Captain Rachel rocks. She was so fast in thinking and acting on each item.  We only missed one thing.  A Navigator. Which is funny cause we have always had a navigator on us!!    When it all was said and done -- We Won!  Awesome!  We all got a heavy DCL key chain.

After, it was time for the Captains Gala dinner and we were in Animators Palate.   Tonight was the "Animation Magic" themed show where we get to draw our own picture of our own character and they will animate it for us. It was so cool.  Check out the video! (hope to get a scan of everyone's paper).  Great show and worthy of a THEA award.

You will have to wait till the next RaeDavey Production to see it.

Because of the Animation Show, we had a modified Captains Gala Menu.  They don't have time for everyone to order everything off the menu since we have characters to create, so there are no choices for the Appetizer and Soup/Salad.  Everyone gets the same thing.  Popcorn Soup with caramel corn,  and a sampler trio for the appetizer.   Rachel and David had lobsters.  David also had on the side Parmesan crusted chicken which was very tasty!  Kara had fettuccine Alfredo with chicken.

After dinner it was time to put Kara to sleep.  Thanks Rachel.  :)

Then David, Larry, Roberta, Jeannie and Paul attended the Prem"ear" of the Avengers at the Walt Disney Theater at midnight of May 4th!

We got in line at 11:00 and they let us in at 11:30pm.   They had the ceiling lights in red and blue with the swirls of "white".
The movie was great!!!!   It ran for 2 hours and 22 min.  I, unfortunately, was so tired i had a hard time staying awake.  I ate an entire bag of gummy bears.   it was not helping.  it was really good from what i saw.   boooo.    bad david.   i will have to go back with Rachel.

Just a few hours till wake up time for Castaway Cay and our final day.  Click here for Day 7

Coronado Springs Resort Refurbished Room 2018

We got to stay in a refurbished room at the Coronado Springs Resort in late July 2018. The area we were in is known as Casitas 2.   Casitas 2 is closer to the main building, as preferred, but starting to get a little further away.  Not as far as the other areas. From what I can tell these areas were the first to be refurbished as the resort is still going through the existing room refurbishment. The entire resort is getting its own extreme makeover. Besides the guest rooms, the common areas and restaurants are getting a new look as well as the pool area later this year.  In addition they are  building a brand new 15 story tower with new rooms as well.  The theme is the southwest.  They are toning down the heavy theme and making the rooms more upscale for the heavy convention clientele as this has one of the largest convention areas on property. In our eyes they did a great job! Very updated, modern but a hint of theme and not over the top. The use of granite topped furnit

Mariner of the Seas Live Blog: Pre-cruise Eve

Tomorrow we leave for Miami!  We are heading down one day early so we can arrive and stay over for the night.  We always like to be closer to the port on arrival day than having the long drive the same day.  Living in Florida gives us the opportunity to cruise from all the Florida ports, so a drive to Miami is not bad at all.  By going the day before it gives us that peace of mind for the drive just in case any issues occur.  Plus, we can arrive at the port nice and early on embarkation day with a good night sleep the night before. We are cruising with good friends this cruise. Part of our Royal Castaways group!  (A cruise is always fun when you can be with friends and family!) We have a group of 7 this trip. We are very much looking forward to the whole experience.  It’s a four night cruise + the night before, so it is shorter than the normal 7 night cruises we do, but we are really looking forward to the new Mariner! So much to see and do! We are staying in Junior Suites this

Mariner of the Seas Live Blog: The Drive to Miami

The day started nice and early.  We all got restful sleep and got up and finished packing. Our daughter K was so excited when she got up... She could hardly contain herself. Lol We hit the road at 12:00... picked up the friends in our rental Chevy Suburban and headed for Miami. The Suburban was great for the 7 of us.   We had the perfect amount of room for all of our luggage.  Would we have enough luggage room for 7 days?  Not 100% sure... 😀 The drive was good. We took the Turnpike straight down to Miami.  We stopped for some time at the rest stop for gas and sandwiches at the Earl of Sandwich.  We sang, danced, and slept of course along the way... as well as  watched a video of one of our past cruises on the entertainment system! We saw construction on the new Hard Rock Casino expansion on the drive near Ft. Lauderdale.  The tower will be shaped like a guitar! We arrived at our stop for the night.  A Hyatt Place.  A nice hotel with all you really need for an easy one
