Disney Fantasy- Day 4

    Day 4 - 5/1/12
    Costa Maya

The day began with Kara at Grandma Roberta and Grandpa Larry's.   The whole gang met at 9:30 at Cabanas for breakfast.

Then it was pool deck time!
Kara, Rachel, Daddy, Jeannie went to be Aqua Lab first and had some great water fun!

The Aqua Lab is a really great addition for all to play and keep cool and not have to crowd into the pools.  It was very quiet as it was a port day.   You really can enjoy the ship and all it has to offer!  The Aqua Lab is the area behind the Aqua Duck that is where Huey Duey and Louie are trying to keep the Aqua Duck up and running. It is leaking all over and they clearly have problems with their Aqua duck building. LOL.  Poor Huey, Duey and Louie!

Then onto the Mickey and Donald Pools.

We also went to the new pool at the front on deck 12.  Kara had a blast.  It was quiet and we really had the whole area to ourselves!

Larry and Wil were in the Adult Pool and I wanted to bring them to the Satellite Falls pool because it is also a nice new area to relax, but it didn't work out cause Larry didn't have shoes.   Hot decking!  It was way to hot to walk on the deck with bare feet.  Keep that in mind the next time you cruise.

Great picture with Larry, Wil and Goofy!

Kara hung out with Grandma on Deck 11 afterwards and they were playing a Rumikub matching game while Jeannie, Rachel And David rode the Aquaduck!  Awesome.   We all took our own rafts and it was so picturesque.   Blue skies, sun, blue blue water!   Awesome!   What a cool addition to the new ships.

After all the sun and fun, Larry, Paul, Arl and Wil saw John Carter at the Buena Vista Theater.  Larry liked.  (his second time seeing the movie).  The rest did not care for it.
Kara, David and Rachel ordered Room Service for lunch.  It is very rare in all of our cruises that we have done a lunch from room service.  We ordered:
    Salmon (which was amazing!)
    Chicken fingers
    Burger
    Cheese and CRACKERS
Kara kept saying "crackers" while Rachel was on the phone placing the lunch order.  The Room service lady said she would send extra crackers.    She Did!  She sent the whole pack of crackers!   How awesome is that?  Extra magic happens even when ordering room service.
...and don't forget the Apples-  tons of slices were delivered as the room service lady, Ana, gave extra apples too because Kara wanted an "apple".  the hostess was so attentive to a kid on the other end of the phone. very very cool.
...and you must order Mickey Bars when you order room service.   So, we ordered 2 Mickey Bars! We need to have dessert, right?

Roberta and Jeannie came to see us in the room while we were eating our gigantic lunch and had a little of what was left (...and there was not much left).

Kara fell asleep after lunch without even trying while sitting on the couch.  She had stuff to color and bam- out like a light. Must have been all that sun and fun she had today!

Rachel went out to the atrium ahead of picture time to scope out the lines and such and have a coffee.

Kara woke up with spontaneous laughter at 5:20 and it was time to meet everyone for black and white night lifestyle pics.   We sure do love taking  pictures!  Lol.  Different photographer tonight. Not as good of a photographer as last nights lifestyles,  but still a bunch of good ones! That's all the pics we did tonight.  No characters.  Kara not in the mood.  We are slackers. How are we going to amass a large picture counts?   LOL LOL

Then it was off to the Walt Disney Theater...  And tonight's show - Wishes!     Great show.  Loved it.   Would definitely see it again.  Good heartfelt story with graduating teens and "the ride of their life". Very enjoyable. Good music.

Then it was time for shopping and dinner.   Tonight we are back at The Royal Court for Princess and Prince theme. Fitting place for the theme!

Ok dinner. Kara and Rachel left early as Kara was not interested in sitting anymore.   With the late dinners, she has not been her usual self.  (cant complain about that at all.  totally different schedule for her.  plus, we had a big lunch.)  They went back to room to head to sleep.

David- salmon appetizer, Caesar salad, ny strip weak and lamb medallions.
Rachel- caesar salad, turkey. (gave to Arl as she was leaving. Arl did not like turbo).
Kara:  watermelon, bread and  bread.   Girl loves her bread.  She actually hands out the butter to us and demands her- Bread. she also had Mac and cheese.

Dessert- Arl ordered the night before chocolate covered strawberries as she saw the table next to us had them.  I also had the kids dessert with dipping chocolate and pineapple, rice krispy, and strawberries.

Then, after dinner, we had stargazing at the Minkin balcony.  Great view of stars, moon and the UFO Bird.  We saw an unidentified flying object in the sky flying back and forth in the exhaust of the ship.  With the lighting and the smoke, it was very odd.  We all finally decided that it had to be a bird.

Everyone went to sleep in their cabins and Jeannie and I went to check pics from our black n white night group.   Very Nice!  Then on the way back to room we stopped in the tube and had some great laughs while sitting in the "Queens" chairs.   See video of Jeannie dancing on the DVD!

End of day Shutters picture total: 216

Off to bed now.   Cozumel port is tomorrow.   Ship should be empty again!  More time to explore and have fun!  Click here for Day 5

Coronado Springs Resort Refurbished Room 2018

We got to stay in a refurbished room at the Coronado Springs Resort in late July 2018. The area we were in is known as Casitas 2.   Casitas 2 is closer to the main building, as preferred, but starting to get a little further away.  Not as far as the other areas. From what I can tell these areas were the first to be refurbished as the resort is still going through the existing room refurbishment. The entire resort is getting its own extreme makeover. Besides the guest rooms, the common areas and restaurants are getting a new look as well as the pool area later this year.  In addition they are  building a brand new 15 story tower with new rooms as well.  The theme is the southwest.  They are toning down the heavy theme and making the rooms more upscale for the heavy convention clientele as this has one of the largest convention areas on property. In our eyes they did a great job! Very updated, modern but a hint of theme and not over the top. The use of granite topped furnit

Mariner of the Seas Live Blog: Day 4- Sea Day

It’s Sea Day... we decided we were going to do breakfast in The Dining Room. The group met on level 3 to start the meal.  The breakfast has hot meals that can be ordered from the wait staff and a buffet for all the cold and continental items.   The wait staff was great and the food came out just right. Nice and relaxing compared to the Windjammer. After breakfast K and a friend went to Jaime’s for a pre-reserved Cupcake decorating class. K says:  "It was so much fun!  We worked with pre-made cupcakes from the chef.  He showed us how to ice them with special designs.  He showed us how to make a rose out of fondant.  It was so cool.  We decorated four cupcakes each."  8 cupcakes for the whole gang to eat later! While the decorating was going on, the rest of the group walked around the ship and everyone met up at our cozy Starbucks corner.   Drinks and snacks just like on land with a great view outside the big ocean view and promenade window. The gang went up to the

Mariner of the Seas Live Blog: Day 1- Embarcation

We woke up about 7:30.  Got ready and headed to the free breakfast.  It was good and enough to fill us up. The usual continental breakfast with some hot items as well.  Like eggs and such. We all got the bags together after 9 and packed up the car.  We were on the road by 9:30. Coming from the west side of the airport we hit some morning traffic. Nothing awful, it kept moving, but it was just under 30 minutes.  We saw first sighting of our home for the next week at 9:55! Still very early. We unloaded the car, parked it and got into the terminal. Check in was very easy and we went to the emerald area to sit. It was not a long wait at all. We were boarding the ship at 11am. Took the welcome aboard picture and headed on to the ship. First thing we needed to do was to head the shore excursion desk. We had read that if you booked a bungalow on Coco Cay, as we did, you could head there upon arrival and pick your bungalow. We pre-ordered a bungalow.  These are done through the cruise
